Brad Miller and I attended the February 12 Clifton Neighborhood Association meeting. If you were there, great!  If not, we want to tell you about River Metals Recycling, your Clifton neighbor. 

 

River Metals Recycling (RMR) processes, sorts and packages post-consumer and post-industrial metal items so they can be recycled for use in another product by a steel mill, foundry or smelter. Our culture and philosophy revolve around being good neighbors and giving back to the community in which we live and work.  We hope you’ll take pride in the fact that your neighbor in Newport is helping Kentucky go green.

 

As a community member for more than 75 years, our long-term success depends on our commitment to environmental stewardship, safety for our teammates, visitors and neighbors, and community relations. We strive to be a good neighbor. Based on feedback from some neighbors, we are working to mitigate instances of peak operational sounds as much as we can. RMR employs rigorous safety standards. Let us reassure you that those instances pose no risk to our neighbors or surrounding property.   

 

At RMR, we take great pride in our compliance record and safety standards. I want you to know personally that we are working hard to ensure our facility has as little impact as possible on our surrounding neighbors by enforcing policies on suppliers and promoting a culture of responsibility.

 

•  We receive frequent and unannounced visits from city, state, and federal environmental regulators ensuring our operations meet the strict standards they set. Our Newport facility consistently meets and exceeds those standards.
